The CPOA Board

The Captiva Property Owners Association serves as the sponsor and primary fundraising engine of the Captiva Community Panel. The members of the CPOA board are all long-time island residents, and they are dedicated to preserving Captiva for future generations.

Hal Miller, president: A property owner on Captiva for over 20 years, Mr. Miller is a full-time resident of the "Village." Prior to making Captiva home, Mr. Miller owned a presentation products business in St. Louis.

Rene Miville, treasurer: Mr. Miville, a resident of the "Gold Coast," has owned property on the island since 1986 and has been a full time resident since 1988. He is a member of the Captiva Community Panel. He serves on the Captiva Erosion Prevention District (CEPD) and worked to help Captiva develop the nation's first Emergency Response Plan to build back the island's beaches in the event of a major hurricane.

Stephen Cutler: A full-time resident since 1985, Mr. Cutler owns property in the "Gold Coast" area and was elected to the Captiva Erosion Prevention District where he served for 12 years.

Dave Jensen: Mr. Jensen is also an elected member of the Captiva Erosion Prevention District, as well as a member of the Captiva Community Panel.

Harry Silverglide: A former businessman, Mr. Silverglide also serves on the Captiva Community Panel. He is active in a number of civic and philanthropic groups.

Susan Stuart: Ms. Stuart has long been active on many of the issues facing Captiva. She is a leader in many civic and philanthropic causes both locally and nationally.

Elaine Smith: A resident of the "Village," Ms. Smith has been visiting the island since she was 8 years old. After spending her honeymoon and many family vacations on Captiva, she became a full-time resident eight years ago and now operates American Reality. Ms. Smith is also a member of the Captiva Civic Association.
